Abdelazia, the Moorish queen, before being subdued by the Christians, preferred to climb a cliff with her horse. And the animal, in its futile resistance, left its mark on the rock, forever, the trace of its horseshoe. And with it the last Saracen bastion in Catalonia disappeared.

Today, we can contemplate one charming village of cobbled streets and houses and the remains of the Saracen fortress, located at the entrance to the village. At its feet a swamp of calm and clean waters offers the possibility of practicing all kinds of water sports.

The most significant building in Siurana is the Romanesque church with a portal with figured eardrum framed by three semicircular archivolts resting on columns with capitals decorated with various motifs.

The village is surrounded by interesting places and it is a point from which you can enjoy some magnificent views of the Sierra de Montsant, the Gritella and the Montes de Prades. It should be noted Siurana as a reference and destination for climbers and hikers. Its legendary cliffs are known around the world for performing these practices.
